[edit] Deletion of "Departmrnt of Law Calcutta University" article

Hi,

I just simply cant understand why you nominated the article for deletion! I guess you have no idea about the Law Dept Of the CU as such. It is really a vast department with campuses equivalent wiht many full-fledged universities! Other than that, the North American based rankin is NOT APPLICABLE here in India. I request you to withdraw the deletion proposal.

Thankin you

Smartsaha —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Smartsaha (talkcontribs) 03:29, 5 December 2006 (UTC).

It's not a question of the department's size, it's about whether independent sources of evidence support the article. This department would be worth a separate article if there are multiple reliable sources WP:RS for what's written about it. And I don't see that type of evidence. --Mereda 07:57, 5 December 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for noticing me on that article. It looks much better and notable with the links you added. Snowynight 17:32, 19 December 2006 (UTC)

That's fine. I was vacilliating between prod and speedy and finally settled on prod to give the person a chance to move it to their userpage if they wanted. It does fall under the A7 speedy criteria though.  :) ~ ONUnicorn(Talk|Contribs) 17:35, 20 December 2006 (UTC)

The Rss/BJP/Muslim league were not involved in the Marad massacre, it was the NDF and later the Araya Samajam. The terrorists massacred five Hindus at the beach, the police killed one terrorist in crossfire, the terrorists hid inside a mosque. When the police tried to get them, a mob of the terrorists wives surrounded the Mosque, barring entry. The police later found bombs, and swords there. By then, the Araya Samajam and VHP had evicted all terrorists from the area, and as of now, I dont think the terrorists have been able to return, even with pleas from the Communist party.Bakaman 17:05, 29 December 2006 (UTC)

Uhh yeah the Hindu (which depite its name, is quite leftist), [1], [2]. The point is that BJP/RSS made noise about it, but did not partake in it. I was mistaken about the IUML (Muslim league). ITs seems they were involved as well.Bakaman 22:23, 29 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Stellar Repulsion force

Dear Mereda.
It is very surprising with regret to note that if some thing new and revolutionary -itis not acceptable to your world of science.Present science world is still in the same dark middle ages where great galileo punished for writing universal reality. Present physical science based on four centuries old theories of Galileo and Newton. But science is ever changing knowledge.
REPULSION is not my first creation. Sir isaac newton imagined "centrifugal force" that is the off-centre-force(OCF)to balance gravitation. REPULSION is off-centre force(OCF). Einstein imagined "Cosmological constant" - for REPULSION FORCE to balance the universe against gravitation. We have possible to DISCOVER ELEMENTARY REPULSION FORCE - IS IT WRONG ? - take a magnet, it exert repulsion and attraction also. Accordingly, if stellar matter exert REPULSION and nonstellar exerts Gravitation and if this is proved reality - what is wrong ? When a hydrogen bomb is exploded - what kind of energy and forces releases ? light, heat and REPULSIVE SHOCK WAVES by which destruction spreads. Hydrogen bomb does not exerts FORCE OF ATTRACTION OR gravitation. Stellar bodies under nuclear reactions acts like hydrogen bomb.Stars exerts active REPULSION FORCE - NOT GRAVITATION.Time is riped to modify Newton's law which states "every particles exert Gravitation"- now, not every but only nonstellar thatis planetary state mass exert Gravitation which is free friom thermonuclear reaction, while stellar mass exerts REPULSION.

I REQUEST TO VISIT AND READ OUR WEBSITE BEFORE DELETION OF THE ARTICLE AND THEN DECIDE.

     www.strepulsion.com

This is revolutionary article of our age. The deletion of the article by Wikipedia will be a black-spot in the history of science and in the history of Wikipedia. In the website - you will observe answer for all your problems. So think before deletion.

If you have any quary - or puzzle, please ask me. I am ready to explain.
Thanking you for providing me an opportunity to claim the truth. If you like i can send the whole Book on STREPULSION FORCE to solve all your problems. Please inform on which address shall i post it.
STREPULSION-PHYSICS is the new universal science

and SO5RLOD SPACE SYSTEM is new space technology -having strength to lead present space programs ahead by century, but based on STELLAR UNIVERSAL REPULSION FORCE and great NASA accepted STREPULSION FORCE physics for further research - and you are behind deletion of introduction of the new science.

Any how, If you want to delete any sentences or words of the theme to suite Wikipedia - I am ready for the same.please inform.
    Thanking you,
    Sincerely Yours
    Dr.N.Chandra Shah.
Please intimate your response on navin@strepulsion.com or insriworld@yahoo.com.

[edit] WikiProject India Newsletter: Volume II, Issue 1 - January 2007

Project News
  • Project tagging:After a brief edit war over the addition of {{WP India}} to ancient archaeological sites now located in Pakistan, a "pre" parameter was introduced to remove the ROI flag from the template for pre-1947 articles, following discussion. After another large discussion on ANI alleging that the automated tagging by Ganeshbot and LostBot was "nationalistic", Ganeshbot was briefly blocked. Currently, the bots are again in action.
  • Swastika on Hinduism templates:Recently, an extremely large and at times emotional debate broke out regarding the use of the swastika on Hinduism templates, given its association with Nazism. As a result, {{Hindu Links}} now contains an educational message about the use of the swastika, as discussion on a more permanent resolution continues.

Thanks for the note – I'm not sure I'm 100% convinced he's notable yet, but I think he's probably on the verge, so my view would be to keep the article. Cheers --Pak21 18:01, 26 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Visual arts-related AfDs

Here's a template to use in an AfD, when it has been listed on Wikipedia:WikiProject Deletion sorting/Visual arts (please do list appropriate AfDs there). I think it should go under the article details and above the nom statement, as it is a formal notice and not part of the debate. It will sign your name with date stamp automatically. Please pass on to others.

Mnemonic: List of Visual arts-related Deletions.

Template to use:

[edit] WikiProject India Newsletter: Volume II, Issue 2 - March 2007

Project News
  • Jimbo's visit to India and the WikiCamp in Chennai: Jimbo recently visited India in late February and early March on wiki work. This included a trip to a WikiCamp in Chennai. The one day conference attracted 300 participants from across India and beyond dealt with issues facing wikis ([3]). It was widely covered by the press, eg The Hindu( [4]), which cited the efforts of Bhadani (edit count), Sundar (leadership on Tamil Wikipedia) and Ganeshk (Creation of Ganeshbot to create articles on Indian towns from census figures). Ganeshk himself travelled from California to attend the conference.
  • Wikipedia Weekly 15: Wikipedia Weekly, a informal Wikipedians' program that purports to give "A weekly audio roundup of Wikipedia happenings with news, interviews and roundtable discussions" recently interviewed two prominent editors Rama's Arrow and Ragib(listen). The entire 34 minute interview was entirely about the world of Indian subcontinent wiki-happenings, and was the first episode which was not entirely dominated by discussion of wiki-politics and wiki-bureaucracy, with the host Witty lama praising the efficiency of the project and its proliferation of featured content. Rama's Arrow cited the team spirit, friendship and respect among project members in discussing its success and FA productivity, as well as discussing subcontinental wiki-conflict. Ragib talked also of his public campaign to raise awareness of the Bengali Wikipedia in his native Bangladesh, which has seen a 30-fold increase in article count over the past year.
