This is my '02 Triumph Daytona.
It has a PowerMaxx underseat exhaust. It sounds like a dozen devels shrieking as they machine-gun a gong. I spend lots of time looking for tunnels so I can hear it in all it's glory. Absolutely f-ing wonderful sound. I love it.
I swapped out the double sided swingarm for the single sided version because I think it looks better. The only time I ever really feel the difference is over 150mph. Since I don't spend much time up there I'm happy with the results. It's locomotive stable at full lean up to about 120 and better than me at speeds any higher than that.
The tail section is repaired plastic from a wreck. It came out perfectly. I'll post an article on repairing plastic soon.
The cowl is a chopped down version made from the original parts. I took it to the bandsaw and removed everything from about an inch past the return. I left the return angle to maintain the rigidity of the part. I put flush mount turn signals just forward of the mirrors. I also installed a Double Bubble smoked windscreen.
You can see from this side where I re-routed the wiring harness between the fork legs. Without the fairings, you could see wires all over the place. Judicious use of zip ties and electrical tape cleaned things up nicely here. If you ever do something like this, make sure there will be no chafing when you turn the wheel. Also, make sure that there is plenty of slack in the harness for lock to lock turning. Otherwise you won't be able to get the most out of your crossed up wheelies. (Pictures coming soon)
The finishing touch was a couple cans of flat black Krylon from the hardware store.
Immediate future... Replace the rediculously high gearing. I'll be goig first from the stock 42 tooth rear to a 45. We'll see what happens after that. Currently it will go about 115 in second gear. It's a 6 speed for Christ's sake.
Wish list.... Turbo, GSXR 1000 front end. You never know. I could hit the lottery
