She is known that Princess Mercedes, in Spanish "Princesa Mercedes", not Infanta. The Infanta was her smaller sister.


Yes, I believe it. She was, according to several sources, Princess of Asturias. That's something special in Spain. They presumably used Princess of her, because of Asturias. She was of course infanta too, but in use, that title was subsumed by Asturias. Her younger sister was of course Infanta dona Teresa, who only after marriage received another title, plenty of them actually, for exapmle that of duchess of Bavaria. Marrtel 20:47, 13 June 2006 (UTC)
