Mervyn Rose

Mervyn Rose (born January 23, 1930) was an Australian male tennis player. He was born in Coffs Harbour, New South Wales and turned professional in 1959. Renowned for coaching the likes of Billie Jean King, Margaret Court, Arantxa Sanchez-Vicario, Eleni Daniilidou, Nadia Petrova, Magdalena Grzybowska and Caroline Schnieder.

Mervyn Rose (Rosie) can still be seen at most Grand Slam tournaments assisting up and coming tennis players.

Mervyn Rose was in the world's Top 10 throughout his tennis career and represented Australia in the Davis Cup from 1951 to 1957.

Mervyn Rose was awarded the Australian Sports Medal in 2000, inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame[1] in 2001 and the Australian Tennis Hall of Fame in 2002 and was presented with the Order of Australia Medal[2] (AM) in 2006.
