[edit] 2008 Machete attacks
On 7th of April 2008 a group of young youths armed with baseball bats, samurai swords and machetes rampaged through the school corridors at 8.50 in the morning Sydney time.[2][3] The youths smashed school windows into pieces and assaulted one male and one female student during the attack. At the same time, a male teacher trying to restrain the offenders was hit over the head and taken to hospital.[4] The exact motive for the attacks is unknown but police do suggest that this attack might have been a retribution.
