"Mercy" is the second single from the album Rockferry by Duffy. Co-written and produced by Steve Booker. It was made available for download from February 11, 2008 and was released physically on February 25, 2008. On February 17, the song entered the UK Singles Chart at number one solely on download sales. The retro-soul style is given further significance by the appearance of several Northern Soul dancers in the song's video. As of 30th May 2008, Mercy has been viewed on Youtube over 11 million times. The song is frequently compared to or mistakened as a Amy Winehouse single, because both of the singers are British and their songs are mostly jazz-influenced.

According to Duffy the song is autobiographical and is about "sexual liberty" and "not doing something somebody else wants you to do".[1]

"Mercy" has been nominated for a 2008 MOJO Award in the category of Song of the Year.[2]

The song is also the first single for Australia, North America, Europe and South Africa.
