Mercy (band)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Mercy is an American pop group from Florida. They released an album in 1969 entitled Mercy - Love Can Make You Happy; this peaked at #38 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 200 chart[1] as a result of the success of their hit single, "Love (Can Make You Happy)". The tune spent two weeks at #2 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 singles chart, and also peaked at #2 on the Adult Contemporary chart.[2]
"Love Can Make You Happy" was recorded twice, originally on the Sundi label (by the original members), at which time it was also featured in the movie, "Fireball Jungle" and again on the Warner Brothers Label (adding new members). There was one "clone" album by "The Mercy," which was not recorded by either the original or the Warner Brothers group.
Jack Sigler, Jr. earned BMI's award recognizing over 2 million air plays.[citation needed] Mercy had three hits in the Top 100, including "Forever" and "Hello Baby."[citation needed]
The band is still together, with Jack Sigler, Jr. as the original member, and touring (as of 2007).
