Mercury Records Australia

Mercury Records Australia was launched in 2007 by Universal Music Australia. The new label is headed by Peter Karpin, who comes from BMG Music Publishing Australia, where as Managing Director he signed Bernard Fanning, Powderfinger, Rogue Traders and songwriter Adam Reily, among others.

The original Mercury Records, launched in 1937,[citation needed] has a popular music heritage encompassing Jerry Lee Lewis, Rod Stewart, 10cc, Bon Jovi, Tears for Fears, Def Leppard and, more recently, Shania Twain, Fall Out Boy and Kanye West, among others.

Mercury Records Australia is now home to artists Carl Riseley and Dash and Will
