From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Mercuria Energy Trading is a large energy trading company in Geneva Switzerland.
Until 2007 it was called the J&S Group[1] and focused mostly on oil trading. It has since branched out to trading power, gas, coal - hiring away traders from Electrabel[2]. It has been built up into an international business by oil traders Daniel Jaeggi and Marco Dunand, who joined the firm in 2004. Mercuria's 2007 revenue was US$27 billion[3], having quadrupled from $5 billion in 2004[4].
It has subsidiaries worldwide, e.g. Navitas Energy in Canada[5].
