Mercedes Trujillo Callealta (14 June 1974 (age 33), Cádiz, Spain), best known as Merche, is a Spanish singer.
Merche is an spanish singer, born in Cadiz, Andalucia, in June 14th 1974.
When she was a child, she acts in school plays and wish to be a singer, but finished school, high school and university, and become a music teacher. At this time also sang in a orcherstra named bahia azul, and worked as an direction assistant in Astilleros de Cadiz.
In 2001 contested to the Spain pre-selection of EUROVISION with the song, No pidas mas amor, under the name of LUNA. Was in 6th place, but signed with Vale Music and start to record her first album MI SUEÑO.
From spring of 2002 to the end of summer, the single NO ME PIDAS MAS AMOR was a national hit in Spain, with TV appareances supporting the single and album, and also was the title track of the spanish Big Brother.
COMO PUDE was released as second single, but the sales wasn't as high as expected. But in fall 2002 released the third single, LE DESEO, and the album became a hit, up to #12 in some weeks, and certificated gold, and a months later, platinum.
At the summer of 2003 the fourth single was released, MI SUEÑO, also with supporting appareances in tv.
In 2002 and 2003 Merche toured with her first album, in the MI SUEÑO TOUR, in that tour, she sang all songs from the album and two covers of other artists, Alaska's A QUIEN LE IMPORTA and Ray Heredia's ALEGRIA DE VIVIR.
Father Pedro also was a singer in Carnavales de Cadiz, with an stronger voice and performances, now retired. Mother Caty is a housewife.
Merche has two sisters, one older, Maria, and one youger, Veronica who is also is personal assistant.
