Mercedes Llopart

Mercedes Llopart (b.1895, Barcelona, - d. 2 Sep 1970, Milan) was a popular Spanish soprano who later became a successful teacher of singing in Milan. Among her most illustrious pupils were Renata Tebaldi, Montserrat Caballé, Fiorenza Cossotto, Ivo Vinco, Alfredo Kraus, Francisco Kraus, Anna Moffo, Renata Scotto and Elena Souliotis.
She appeared at the world premiere of Wolf-Ferrari's opera Sly, at the Teatro alla Scala, in 1927, with the great Italian tenor Aureliano Pertile.
