Mercantile Equity started life in Belfast as a generator of highly qualified mortgage appointments to a UK based mortgage brokerage. Within 10 months it had out-grown the supply of appointments required by this company and started marketing themselves as an appointment generator for the whole of the mortgage industry. In early 2006 Mercantile Equity moved to Newcastle Upon Tyne and is today supplying over 1000 mortgage brokers with qualified appointments.

Mercantile Equity takes mortgage leads, either from its own lead generation website or from affiliates and turns them into fully qualified mortgage appointments (via its UK Call center) which are sold to interested financial institutions.

Mercantile Equity has to complete in two very competitive markets, firstly it has to go head to head with heavyweights such as Beat That Quote and Money Supermarket in order to obtain the leads, and secondly it has to sell the appointments on to financial institutions who are always on the hunt for leads that give them the best ROI
