A half-tone photograph of Mob Quad (in Merton College, Oxford) in 1910.

A few things have changed since 1910. The creeper all over the walls has gone: it causes too much damage to the stone. The facing of most of the stone work has been repaired or replaced (including nearly all the Chapel tower). The chimneys (five are visible) have been removed; this is no great loss as they were not original, they still used braziers in the rooms in the 13th century so they did not build chimneys.

[edit] Source information

Scanned by User:Thruston from a very old guidebook to Oxford published by OUP in 1922. As often in older books there is no specific copy right status printed anywhere in the book, nor is any individual credited as the photographer or even author. Using common sense and good judgement one can consider that it is likley that the individuals associated with the book who might claim the copyright all died before 1956 hence the PD-old-50 tag used here.
