Talk:Mentone Grammar School
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
This page is a disgrace. I know nothing about the school, but this is not a forum for ones own opinions. Change it.
Took this line out It can be put back in if a source is found. (Seems very POV)
Mentone Grammar has alienated its customers.
The Head sent a letter to all parents last year (2005) stating that if parents do not like the direction in which he is taking the school, then they should leave the school.
That was pretty much Keith's attitude 20 to 40 years ago - if you don't like the product, buy something else. Sadly I had made the mistake of winning a scholarship to Mentone.
Contrast this entry with that for Haileybury: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Haileybury_College%2C_Melbourne
Has anyone else notcied that this is just an advertisment of mentone i beleive it should be taken down

[edit] MGSPA
I think most of the introduction is the MGSPA's own complaining, i will rewrite to make it look a bit more neutral. AussieWiki2006 09:16, 19 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Unprotection Request
Some false information has been left on the site, eg Phil Jennings school, while true info has been deleted (intergalactic badminton team). The site should be open for improvement. Sintheg2 10:04, 27 May 2007 (UTC)User:Sintheg2
[edit] They were duelin', Doolin Dalton
Now that I have your attention, could a moderator please delete the protection sign. The school is only known as Phil Jennings School by some who knew Phil 'Floppa' Jennings. Also, the intergalactic badminton team is perhaps what the school is most known for, along with Shane Warne. Partially constructive posts by Crcar2 are being completely deleted.
- Make your request at the unprotection page. Good luck. -- Mattinbgn/ talk 12:41, 29 May 2007 (UTC)
- Indeed - as per Mattinbgn's suggestion - but perhaps even better for you at this stage - given your rather poor form edits recently and so that you can build up some trust in the Wikipedia community - you could indicate on the talk page of Mentone Grammar School what things should be changed and why, and provide proper references for each suggestion - then others will consider them and put them in as appropriate.--VS talk 13:15, 29 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Thanks for the support!
As ridiculous as my recent edits may have seemed, many members of the community know that these are quasi factual and therefore i'd like the edits to remain so others can help in the 'cleaning up' by finding appropriate references. Now that my I.P. address has been unblocked... I invite all users, including the very king gentleman from the previous comment post, to rally together and tell the true story of the 'intergalactic badminton' team as well as the great coup of 2006.Crcar2 15:32, 31 May 2007 (UTC)
I tried to reason with the wikiadmin (I think that's a word), but they deleted my discussion comments and ignored my unprotection request, then I was put on probation. I reckon it should be a bit of a mix, in that we alumni put in some school history, maybe some stuff about foundation and Mr. Clark (the best headmaster ever) and Args and Cater (previous and current headmasters, respectively, for those who don't know). But in return, we should be able to put in a section about intergalatic badminton etc under a "Student Culture" heading. DoctorReiux 06:41, 20 July 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Fair Enough
Good suggestions above DoctorReiux, however surely the 4 IBT members are among the most well known of any alumni and should therefore be in that section. A Student Culture heading would probably invite ridiculous statements in that section. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 210.50.223.172 (talk) 06:15, 19 September 2007 (UTC)
