Menntaskólinn Hraðbraut (abbreviated as Hraðbraut) is an Icelandic gymnasium (secondary school) established in 2003 that allows students to get a gymnasium diploma in only two years (hence the first graduates graduated in 2005), contrary to normal period of four years in Iceland. Hraðbraut is an Icelandic word meaning "highway" or "autobahn", which is a reference the rapid movement of students through the system. The school has a student population of just over a 100 students (130 students for the 2005-2006 school year). This is a small number compared to most other Icelandic gymnasiums where the larger ones having around 1200-1500 students.
