Rabbi Menachem Creditor founded Shefa (The Conservative Movement Dreaming from Within) and co-founded KeshetRabbis (Gay-Friendly Conservative and Masorti Rabbis).
Creditor studied at the Jewish Theological Seminary in New York City for s'micha and a masters in Jewish education. He composed music for and helped guide Pizmon, Key Tov, and Note-Nim, New York-based a cappella groups dedicated to sharing passion for all things Jewish through soulful music. He later joined Rabbi David Paskin in forming Shirav, a renowned Jewish Folk, still visiting communities with power and Jewish spirituality.
Currently (as of 2007) serving as rabbi of Congregation Netivot Shalom in Berkeley, California, Creditor continues to explore Modern Judaism through mystical and Chassidic teachings. He lives with his family there (wife Liz, daughters Ariel Shlomit and Raya Meital, and son Moshe Tzvi).
