[edit] Cover stories
The magazine featured a profile of George Clooney[1] in its inaugural issue. Since then, athletes like Roger Federer[2] and Tiger Woods[3], actors like Denzel Washington[4] and Viggo Mortensen[5], and political figures like Tony Blair[6] and Barack Obama[7] have been featured on the cover. The magazine received praise[8] for its December 2007 issue, with Will Smith[9] on the cover, for celebrating African-American men.
[edit] Content
The magazine presents a portrait of a world in which a man's intellect, accomplishments, and appearance converge in the creation of a well-lived, well-balanced life. It combines far-reaching interests with a regard for the kind of style that emanates from success and substance. Through coverage of art and architecture, travel and food, politics and finance, books and sports, custom tailoring and fine watches, the leading writers and photographers of the world define a new male sensibility: smart, worldly, mature, and curious.
[edit] Regular Features
The magazine presents a yearly list of its chosen American Visionaries.[10] Recipients of the 2007 recognition include Ralph Lauren[11], actor Owen Wilson and director Wes Anderson.[12] It also features profiles in each issue of everyday stylish and successful men in its Life Studies section.[13]
