Background Information:
The Melville Rovers Football Club est. 2005 in the sunny, seaside town of St Andrews, epitomise the University ideal. Too much time, too much ambition, but inevitably too little skill. The team consists of 20 or so strapping young lads, who venture forth unto the pitch every Sunday to participate in friendly local league matches. It has been said that the Melville Rovers are not very good at football, but this doesn’t seemed to have deter them. Joshua Holden, Melville Rovers 1st team keeper notes, "I'm here to make friends", and that exactly what the team does. Make friends.

History:
The team was born when 2 opposing 6 a side teams, the infamous 'Pineapples' and the rather fruity 'Plums' amalgamated over an Andrew Melville Hall Lunch. Soon news spread to other inept football players in the hall, and so the Melville Rovers were formed. The first ever training session on the mound was a resounding success, and Joshua Holden, Melville Rovers 1st team keeper, made 2 new friends.

The Kit:
For the 2006/2007 season the Melville Rovers sported the burgundy/ burgundy combination thankfully created by Legea, and taken on by the Arsenal. Realising that the kit didn't go with David Rankine's suspicious ("it's natural") hair, the decision was made to go for a Brazilian-esque design for the 2007/2008 season. However, as the boys returned from the long summer they realised they had got slightly fatter and remarkably worse at football. The kits had already arrived however, and from that day the team were known across the land of St Andrews to have the nicest kits, the most friends, but the least amount of points.

The Future: The future looks like it will be there for the Melville Rovers. What it brings however, this Wikipede can only speculate. It is likely that Thomas Keating (1st team striker and all-round boys-boy) will get cramp at some point or another, but will Joshua Holden, Melville Rovers 1st team keeper make any new friends??
