[edit] Melnorme/Torme?

Is the name 'Melnorme' supposed to reference 'Mel Torme' the singer?

I sincerely doubt it myself, but only the game designers do. --Kizor 4 July 2005 04:09 (UTC)
Aaaaand I checked the chat logs [1]. Yes. Yes it is. --Kizor 6 July 2005 04:31 (UTC)

[edit] The colours, the colours!

As my experiences are just the opposite - that there is no new option gained at reaching the absurd amount of credits if that's even possible, and the Melnorme text/speech files contain no such explanation - I've moved this bit of the article here. If I'm wrong, slap me with a wet fish and correct it. --Kizor 4 July 2005 04:09 (UTC)

"Being as secretive as they are the Melnorme will not reveal the reason why their background changes its colour when they begin to trade. Given the player can scuffle the necessary credits it is revealed that the Melnorme back-colour is in fact reflected from the monitor in front of them (just outside the picture), when they switch the computer to trade-mode it changes colour and so does their background (apparently one species did pay for this information and got very angry, the Melnorme could not understand why)."
