Talk:Mellow Yellow
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I moved this from Mellow Yellow (album) to Mellow Yellow, as there was no need for the disambiguated title
I heard that the words "mellow yellow" were inspired by the depressent drug that came out as pills and the color was yellow. So uppers made you active, and downers made you "mellow". So the new drugs/high was called mellow yellow?

- pentobarbital or Nembutal was a short-acting barbiturate, known as "yellows" in the 1970's. The "little yellow pills" in the Rolling Stones song "Mother's Little Helper" were Valium, and "Yellow Submarine' was supposed to be a referrence to LSD, but some people said it also referred to Nembutal.Pustelnik (talk) 22:55, 25 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Split with Pye records
The split with Pye records and the subsequent collaberation with Mickie Most was an importantpoint in his career.
Is the "I tidied up my last affair" verse in Bleak City Woman a reference to this?
[edit] The Simpsons
Homer is humming a line of the title track in the episode "I Am Furious Yellow" when he is oppressing his anger. Afterwards the tune from the song is played in intermission.
