Talk:Melissa Hart
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Mellissa Hart is not the first woman to serve Pennsylvania in the House of Reps. Kathryn E. Granahan served in the house from 1956 to 1963. Npeters22 17:29, 31 May 2006 (UTC)
- Well, she is the first Republican, since Granahan was a Democrat. Michael 19:50, 15 August 2006 (UTC)
- (Congressional staff members related an incident in 2001, in which they recalled the freshman Representative Melissa Hart of Pennsylvania, who is white, admonishing Representative Julia Carson, who is black, that the elevator they were riding on was members-only. Ms. Carson, of Indiana, proceeded to introduce herself to her new colleague, offense taken.) [1] --Neutralitytalk 06:05, 5 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Succession Box
I added the succession box for her time in the PA State Senate. Anyone know who her predecessor there was?--RedShiftPA (talk) 18:00, 15 December 2007 (UTC)
[edit] New Section
Someone added a new section about Hart's donations from ARMPAC, as well as some other stuff. I cut out some unsourced phantom quotes (quotes w/o any citations at all) and I {{Fact}} tagged the rest. --RedShiftPA (talk) 05:50, 5 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] 2008 Election
Melissa Hart does not have a primary opponent in the 2008 election. Lynn Swann has said he is not running, and Ron Francis dropped out. The list of candidates has now been posted and only Hart filed for the Republican nomination ([2] - see page 2). PittSammy (talk) 21:29, 23 February 2008 (UTC)
