[edit] Recording Contract

A recording contract cannot be confirmed because Idols are bound till November by their obligation to the show..

[edit] Cleanup

I believe this article requires some serious cleanup in order to make it understandable for someone who's never heard of American Idol and is wondering, for example, who Simon is. I will probably take care of this when I have the chance, hopefully tomorrow but being on vacation you never know. --Twipie 07:34, 10 March 2007 (UTC)

I did some cleanup tonight. If you think more is necessary, have at it. :) --WoohookittyWoohoo! 10:53, 10 March 2007 (UTC)
Thanks! That took care of pretty much everything Twipie 03:39, 11 March 2007 (UTC)
What college did she go to? Article says she went to college, but doesn't say what school. Elle Bee 11:41, 12 March 2007 (UTC)
It is unknown. Melinda olny mnetions in her biography on Americanidol.com that she received a degree in music. -- Nyla1

She went to high school in Tulsa, OK.[1] Just an FYI for when you all start writing a more detailed biography on her. I don't know if she was born & raised in Tulsa, or what but I know that she went to high school in Tulsa and moved to Tennessee for college. Just thought I'd pass this along. Also, I looked on Google and she is a graduate of Belmont College.[2]NMajdantalk 13:37, 15 March 2007 (UTC)

People, i started this page and it was nice and neat. But now, some jerk-off replaced my page. I like the picture, but they took my ownership. I want to know who it is!Meldshal42 18:38, 16 March 2007 (UTC)Meldshal42

You forgot to add one more critical genre she specializes in: Jazz. She's done backup for Kirk Whalum, among others.

[edit] Questionable sentence removed.

In the introductory paragraph, there is a line that reads, "Since college, her vocal instruction has been provided by her coach, Sanjaya Malakar."

Is this someone's idea of a joke or just a misquote? I have removed it, but it's in the previous version, available in the article history. Any objections to it being gone? --le petite robot 02:42, 4 May 2007 (UTC)

-- Nah, I don't think there's a way that he is her coach. And I believe her vocal coach is a woman? Weird0 11:11, 17 May 2007 (UTC)

The one on Idol is a woman. Debra Byrd. Not sure if she has a personal one or not. I believe she does. --WoohookittyWoohoo! 11:36, 17 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] New format for songs performed on American Idol

I was thinking that Melinda's songs performed may be more graphically pleasing if they were configured like this, (from Jordan Sparks' article). I would appreciate people's thoughts on this before I make the change. Thank you, 71.205.190.190 12:10, 16 May 2007 (UTC)

Unless I am missing something, that is how its set up. --WoohookittyWoohoo! 13:43, 16 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Nasty comment at the very end of the article needs to be removed.

"Mellinda smells like a garbage can"

Very bottom/end of the article. How did this even get there? Let alone the fact that the name is mispelled.

Here is a graphic showing this section.
