Melvin Sparks

Melvin Sparks (born March 22, 1946) is an American soul jazz, hard bop and jazz blues guitarist most active in the 1960s and 1970s. He appeared on several recordings with better-known musicians like Lou Donaldson, Charles Earland, Sonny Stitt, Leon Spencer and Johnny Hammond Smith, to name just a few. He has recorded some albums as bandleader in the 1980s and 1990s, also.[1]
Melvin can also currently be seen on Northeastern television commercials as the voice of Price Chopper's "House of BBQ" advertising campaign.
