Melvin Goes to Dinner is a 2003 film adaptation of Michael Blieden's play Phyro-Giants!, directed by Bob Odenkirk. Blieden wrote and stars in the film, along with Stephanie Courtney, Matt Price [1] and Annabelle Gurwitch.
It primarily centers on intimate dinner conversation between two men and two women, all in their thirties; the connections between them are revealed throughout the course of the movie.
The movie won the Audience Award at the 2003 South by Southwest Film Festival in Austin, Texas, as well as the Best Picture and Best Ensemble Awards at the Phoenix Film Festival.
Michael Penn wrote the music for the film.
