Melvin Bernstein (b. ?), PhD is acting director of the Office of Research and Development, Science and Technology Directorate, U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), and Vice President for Research at the University of Maryland.
Bernstein holds a doctorate in Metallurgy and Material Science at Columbia University.
