Melville Ryan

Melville Ryan is a first class cricketer who played 150 first class matches for Yorkshire County Cricket Club between 1954 and 1965. He also played for Yorkshire Second XI (1954-1962), Minor Counties (1957-1958) and the International Cavaliers (1966).

A right arm fast medium bowler, he took 413 wickets at just 22.92 with a best of 7 for 45 against Warwickshire. He took 5 wickets in an innings 12 times and 10 wickets in a match on 2 occasions. He scored 682 runs at 7.49 with a top score of 26*. He took 59 catches. He played 3 Gillette Cup matches, taking 5 wickets at 29.8 and scoring 7 runs for once out.

He was born on June 23, 1933 in Huddersfield, Yorkshire.
