Melody and the Tyranny is an EP released by Velvet Revolver as a precursor to their album Libertad. Melody and the Tyranny includes two tracks from Libertad as well as the Talking Heads cover "Psycho Killer" and a live renditon of "Do It for the Kids", a song from Velvet Revolver's debut album, Contraband. The documentary on the making of Libertad was Produced and Directed by Rocco Guarino.
On June 1st a version of the EP was leaked onto various file sharing websites, however it lacked the Making of Libertad and the live version of "Do It for the Kids".
The EP received a European and Australian release and will not be released in North America. The EP is limited to just 5,000 copies.
