Melissa R. Kelly (Born December 28, 1962) was appointed in 2001 to represent District 9B, which covers a portion of Baltimore County, Maryland.

Delegate Kelly was appointed by Governor Parris Glendening in 2001 to replace her husband, James M. Kelly, who resigned from the seat when he was appointed by President George W. Bush to a special assistant position in the White House. [1]

Kelly graduated from Towson State University in 1987 with a B.S. with honors in biology.
[edit] Career
Melissa Kelly's tenure in the Maryland House of Delegates lasted only several months. In January of 2002, she resigned and Emil B. Pielke was appointed to replace her.[2]
Since 1999, Kelly has been a biology teacher at Towson Catholic High School in Towson, Maryland.
