Melissa Bedford

Melissa Bedford is a fictional character on the American soap opera General Hospital. Jensen Buchanan and Sharisse Baker-Bernard portrayed the character from 2001 until 2002.

Before coming to Port Charles, Melissa's brother Leo worked for Joseph Sorel. Roy DiLucca befriended Leo and Melissa and Roy started dating. Roy was an undercover FBI agent and turned Leo in. While in prison, Leo was killed by one of Sorel's men. Melissa ended their relationship. Melissa eventually forgave Roy and decided to track him down in Port Charles.
In 2001, Melissa showed up in Port Charles. She got a job at General Hospital as nurse. She was working with Bobbie Spencer, Roy's current girlfriend. Melissa intended on not interfering with their relationship. Bobbie became jealous and it caused her and Roy to break up. Melissa decided to go after Roy. They started a relationship again. When Sorel was murdered in the hospital, Roy and Melissa became the prime suspects. It turns out that his daughter, Angel Sorel Ellis was the murderer.
Edward Quartermaine faked being mugged by Zander Smith and became friendly with Melissa. Edward changed his will leaving half of everything to Melissa. Edward had a heart attack shortly after and Melissa became a suspect. She was relieved from her duties at General Hospital. She was cleared and reinstated at the hospital. Roy became suspicious of Melissa and started to investigate. With Lucky Spencer and Laura Spencer's help he discovered quite a few dead patients under her care. Roy discovered proof that Melissa had killed patients and threatened to turn her into the police. Melissa begged him not to. Roy turned her into the police. Before being lead away she reminded Roy of how much he betrayed her.
