Melekeok (pronounced /məˈleɪkeɪoʊk/ in English[citation needed]) is a town and one of Palau's sixteen states. It is located on the east coast of Palau's largest island, Babeldaob. As of 7 October 2006, the city of Melekeok became the seat of Palau's government, replacing Koror as the nation's capital city.

According to the 2000 census 239 people resided in the State of Melekeok. They are distributed among seven villages, including Melekeok, the capital:

  1. Melekeok
  2. Ertong
  3. Ngeburch
  4. Ngeremecheluch
  5. Ngermelech
  6. Ngerubesang
  7. Ngeruling

Melekeok is 11 square miles (28 km²) in area and situated between Ngchesar to the south and Ngiwal to the north.

Melekeok's Lake Ngardok is the largest natural body of fresh water in all of Micronesia at 4.93 km²; it has a small population of saltwater crocodiles Crocodylus porosus.
