Melanie Valerio (born May 7, 1969 in Cleveland, Ohio) is an American swimmer, who graduated from Hawken School in Gates Mills, Ohio and the University of Virginia.

Valerio won a gold medal as a member of the winning 4 x 100 Freestyle Relay team at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, Georgia.

Valerio races Ironman and is an elite age-group member of the Timex Multisport Team. She often blogs her races and training for Timex.[1]. She has also secured the first ever Cheap Trick custom-built bike (noting Rick Nielsen’s penchant for custom-built guitars). Melanie can be found in numerous women's magazines offering fitness and training tips.
