Melanie Castleman, née Melanie Spradlin, is a country songwriter. She is originally from Westerville, Ohio.[1]
She was nominated for Grammy Award (with her songwriting partner and husband Robert Lee Castleman) in 2007 for "Like Red on a Rose" by Alan Jackson. Los Angeles Times music critic Randy Lewis wrote, of the song: It "is a tightly focused paean to long-term love that derives emotional power from expressive simplicity."[2]
