Melandaha is located at 24.9667° N 89.8333° E . It has 55954 units of house hold and total area 239.65 km².

As of 1991 Bangladesh census^[1], Melandaha has a population of 262478. Males constitute are 51.39% of the population, and females 48.61%. This Upazila's eighteen up population is 133860. Melandaha has an average literacy rate of 17.4% (7+ years), and the national average of 32.4% literate. ^[2]
