Mel Alas

Carmelo Alas (born July 3, 1969, Unisan, Quezon) is a Filipino basketball assistant coach for the Letrán Knights in the Colegio de San Juan de Letrán. Recently, he was the basketball head coach for his alma mater Adamson University's Adamson Soaring Falcons (replacing Luigi Trillo) during the 68th season of the University Athletics Association of the Philippines (UAAP).

Prior to this, he was a former head coach for Las Piñas College and St. Jude College in the College and Universities Athletics Association.

He is the younger brother of multi-titled basketball coach Louie Alas.
