Mel is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Belluno in the Italian region Veneto, located about 170 km north of Venice and about 14 km southwest of Belluno and about 16 km northest of Feltre. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 6,311 and an area of 85.7 km².[1]

The territory of Mel is home to a medieval castle known as the Castello di Zumelle. The present configuration of the castle dates back to 1311, although the site was in use as a military fortification since Roman times.

The town is well-known for its numerous cultural activities, of note are the art exhibitions in the old "Palazzo delle Contesse" and the choral music festival in July in the Guarnieri palace park.
