Jon Mattox began his music career in Costa Mesa, California playing drums with a variety of local bands including Liquid Flame, Modern Faith, The Instigators, The Cram Bros, and Suburban Parade. In 1995 he joined The Young Dubliners and recorded 4 albums and toured internationally with the band.

As a composer, Jon Mattox has licensed his music for the following movie trailers: 21, No Country For Old Men, Beowolf, National Treasure Book Of Secrets, Hostel 2, Deja Vu, The Legend Of Zorro, Outlaw, XXX State of the Union, Domino, Catch a Fire, Behind Enemy Lines 2, and Teenage Ninja Mutant Turtles. Also, Mattox has licensed his music television promos and advertising: The Closer, TNT, TAG Heuer, & Vogue.

  In 2007, Mattox composed music and did the music supervision for the feature film "Young Single, & Angry". The soundtrack was released on Bright Orange Records and features music from Jason Whitton, Sterling Witt, Sue Paine, Uni, Jon Mattox, Days Between Stations, Brian Cram, Alpha Cat ,The Young Dubliners, Erinn Williams, Heather Stewart, Simon Lynge, Jim Marcotte, and 7k.
