Meitham was born in Baghdad 1980. He completed a degree in Computer Science in al-Nahrain University (formerly Saddam University) and a High Diploma in Computer Science during the US invasion of Iraq 2003. Meitham worked as a writer, translator and head of IT for TIME Magazine's Baghdad bureau. He established a wide network of contacts among the various movements, parties and militias operating in Iraq and developed a unique expertise in contemporary Iraq, Islam and Jihad.
Meitham has mainly worked with Nir Rosen and Michael Ware.
