Disclaimer: I so did not write the below description. All credit goes to the fabulously witty Alex Embrey, except for a couple minor factual/semantic corrections. I most certainly do not think this highly of myself.

Marianne Faulkner (or Faulkner-Nava), born July 15, 1987, is an American illustrator, fashion designer, singer, actress, writer, and freestyle social commentator. She emerged from relative obscurity in the early 2000s as a result of her proficiency in the fields of aesthetics, asexuality, and awesomeness.

[edit] Early Life

Faulkner was born to two teachers; her father taught music and played jalisco harp in a mariachi, of which he was director, while her mother taught Spanish for Spanish Speakers, being herself of Hispanic descent. She has one older sister, DeAnna. Although much of Faulkner's childhood is shrouded in mystery, it is clear that a less-than-stable family and rebellious sister had much to do with her development. While not particularly religious, she identifies with the Catholic religion of her mother.

[edit] Not-So-Early Life

By her high school years, Faulkner was beginning to attract the attentions of the opposite sex. Being forbidden to date until the age of sixteen, she put these thoughts aside; however, when the time of her freedom came, she found she had no use for such activities in the first place. In fact, a marked asexuality (and the motto "Dating is bad. Don't do it.") became one of the mainstays of her personality, along with fashion, music, drama, and a love of language. She cultivated her personality for a few years, although she left high school early and started taking college courses. Her teacher parents, although their respective subects became a significant part of Faulkner's life, failed to instill in her a love of school and schoolwork, and indeed she was (and is to this day) renowned among her acquaintances for her procrastinatory abilities, often leaving major projects until the very last day of the semester or even longer.

Though she might never admit it, Faulkner writes in a distinctive style, by turns profound and entertaining, that shows a strong influence of British humor mixed with a California mindset and Asian propensities. She is an extremely Internet-oriented individual, spending great portions of her time chatting online, posting in her blog[1], or compiling lists of desired merchandise, often related to fashion or J-Rock. She has said that the J-Rock superstar Miyavi is the only man she would consider touching sexually. Though she is far too novice to claim any real title of "gamer", she is no stranger to video gaming. However, her choices are again influenced heavily by Asian culture, preferring such titles as Katamari Damacy, Animal Crossing and Ragnarok Online to standard American fare.

Faulkner harbors a desire to start a J-Rock band with herself as lead vocals and (possibly) bass, which she attempts to learn when she gets around to it.

Currently, Faulkner attends American InterContinental University, at the Los Angeles campus, majoring in fashion design.
