Meir Rauch

Meir Rauch (born 15 October 1909) was an Israeli chess master, born in Zolynia, Poland.[1]
In August-September 1939, he played for the Palestine team in the 8th Chess Olympiad on the first reserve board (won 4, lost 2 and drew 7) in Buenos Aires.[2] When World War II was broke out, Rauch, along with many other participants of that Olympiad (Najdorf, Stahlberg, Frydman, Feigins, Czerniak, Kleinstein, Winz, Eliskases, Michel, Engels, Becker, Reinhardt, Pelikan, Skalička, Luckis, Raud, Gromer, Sulik, Seitz, de Ronde, Sonja Graf, etc.) decided to stay permanently in Argentina.[3]
