[edit] How Many More Times
1. Wikipedia policy states: "If you are undoing an edit that is not vandalism, explain the reason in the edit summary rather than using only the default message." I re-reverted Anger22's "undo" of my last edit because s/he ignored this policy, summarily reverting an edit that wasn't vandalism without providing any explanation. This was after you previously ignored Wikipedia policy by deeming my edit "vandalism" when it wasn't.
2. Now I've reverted again. I don't think it is fair for the article to say that Led Zeppelin "forgot" to credit the "inspiration" behind the song without sourcing either claim. The fact that Zeppelin has credited Wolf since 1993 isn't an acknowledgment, without more, that Wolf's song "inspired" the song "How Many More Times." I am generally skeptical of such a claim because, as the analysis on this site [1] indicates, "other than a basic blues structure and the three shared words in the title, however, these tracks ["How Many More Years" and "How Many More Times"] have little in common."
I also don't think the "trivia" comment about Gary Farr and the T-Bones added anything to the article.
I have posted part of the above to the talk page of "How Many More Times." Allon Fambrizzi (talk) 20:28, 1 June 2008 (UTC)Allon Fambrizzi
- No dear, the burden is on you to come up with a source for the claim that "How Many More Years" was the "inspiration" for "How Many More Times." And by the way, the Gary Farr portion that you keep reinserting without explanation is taken from turnmeondeadman.net.
- Let's us end this pissing contest, por favor. My edit wasn't based on turnmeondead man and didn't cite it as a source; I just cleared away some unsourced POV nonsense about Howlin' Wolf being the "inspiration" for the song. Allon Fambrizzi (talk) 05:57, 2 June 2008 (UTC)Allon Fambrizzi
[edit] Some observations
I like how you criticized my edits pointing out obvious similarities to other songs as "libelous," but you had no problem groundlessly asserting I was a "vandal" and a "sockpuppet," claims which are much more nearly libelous than anything I ever wrote in an article! A guilty conscience, perhaps?
Your ridiculous edits have diminished the accuracy and informativeness of Wikipedia by removing information about the influences behind these songs. You seem to think that pointing out similarities is somehow defamatory, which is an incredibly biased assumption. What is wrong with lifting lines and melodies from other songs? As you continually point out, Led Zeppelin has never been sued for most of this and much of it doesn't even violate any copyright laws.
I'm curious, can you point me to any substantive edits you've made to a Led Zeppelin article? Excuse me if that is a "libelous" question. Allon Fambrizzi (talk) 16:35, 7 June 2008 (UTC)Allon Fambrizzi
- So this comes down to Social proof, eh? (You didn't respond to the first part of my post, which I find telling. The question as to your contributions remains.)
- JohnCardinal and I were able to reach agreement as to any issues because he, unlike you, acted like a rationally and was willing to discuss things without resorting to name-calling. You apparently could not.
