[edit] Background information
By Summer 2006, The Heretics guitarist and founder Solomon Ach began writing horror-inspired lyrics for an album that would eventually be tentatively titled Ghouligan's Island, a pun on the title of the popular sitcom Gilligan's Island. Over the next year he would continue casually writing lyrics inspired apparently by his influences such as the works of horror rock musician Wednesday 13. By August 2007, talks of a collaboration between he and longtime friend and musician Vixen Windstorm began to take place. Windstorm made a proposition to produce Ghouligan's Island, with the possibility of a musical contribution to the album. Further talks led to the conclusion that Windstorm would perform bass, vocals and possible additional guitar duties as a session musician. He may also perform syncussion as well. It was around this time that Windstorm contributed lyrics to Ach for use in the opening track from the upcoming album, titled "Apacghoulypse Now", a pun on the title of the 1979 war film Apocalypse Now. In January 2008, Windstorm was also consulted on and made contributions to the track "Life's a Grave......Dig it", though his version may possibly not be used on the album.
The album is currently set for a December 21, 2012 release. Initially only scheduled for an unspecified release in 2012, this specified release date was chosen by Vixen Windstorm on the basis that it has been suggested by the Mesoamerican Long Count calendar in many New Age articles and books that this will be the end of this creation, the next pole shift or something else entirely. What "the end of this creation" means exactly is absolutely unknown.
