Meggitt plc, a British engineering group, has its headquarters at Bournemouth Airport, Dorset, England, in Atlantic House. It is listed on the London Stock Exchange and is a constituent of the FTSE 250 Index.
Meggitt was founded in 1947 and became a quoted public company in 1966. In 2004 it acquired the design and manufacturing division of the Dunlop Standard Aerospace Group, which increased the size of the group by thirty per cent. Meggitt announced on March 6, 2007 that it would acquire K&F Industries. K&F was the parent company of Aircraft Braking Systems Corporation. ABSC was a major competitor of Dunlop Standard Aerospace. The merger transaction was completed on June 22, 2007. This was the largest merger in Meggitt history.
After the merger between K&F and Meggitt, ABSC and Dunlop started plans to merge into one entity named Meggitt Aircraft Braking Systems. January 7, 2008 was "One MABS Day". This was the day that Dunlop and ABSC started trading under one name. The new website for MABS can be found at:[1].
