Meggie Folchart is a fictional character in Cornelia Funke's Inkworld trilogy. The only daughter of Mortimer Folchart and his wife Teresa ("Resa"), she widely serves as the book's protagonist. Meggie is described to be tall and slim, having blue eyes and dark blonde hair.
In Inkheart Meggie got captured with her father by the evil Capricorn. Capricorn uses Meggie to read the Shadow, and evil companion of Capricorn, for an execution. Meggie read the Shadow, but couldn't get her self to tell the Shadow to kill Capricorn and his men. Mo grabs the paper Meggie is reading from and tells the Shadow to kill Capricorn.
In Inkspell Meggie read herself and Farid into the Inkworld, and at the same time, fell in love with Farid. Eventually the two had a relationship. At the same time, she saves Mo from an execution.
