[edit] Biography
[edit] The beginnings ska
The group was formed in 1997 in Genoa, borrowing its name from "bad" of Daitarn 3 (We Meganoidi are those who / no longer win battles against Daitarn 3 / ...). The group was originally composed of four elements, voice, guitar, bass and drums, and was extended in 1998 with the inclusion of the trumpet. In the same year, leaving their first demos, Comics vs. Municipal composed five songs ska.
Three years later, in addition to training a saxophonist and a percussionist (Francis "Cisco" Roberto), and made the first album Into the Darkness, Into the Fashion, which Meganoidi become famous and win new ranks of fans . In this album reveals a rather clear influences not only ska punk or ska-core, but also decidedly more punk rock, which tend to decrease significantly in the next disc to disappear entirely.
Among the most famous songs of the band can remember King of ska e Supereroi, extracted from the single Into the Darkness, Into the Fashion, famous for becoming the symbol of the TV program The hyenas and because the music video, which in 2001 and 2002 was passed by the main Italian television network, the duo appeared comic Luke & Paul in the robes of "municipal" (two vigilant police).
[edit] After the G8
For their second album, Outside the Loop, Stupendo Sensation, we must wait another two years. With this new work, the group takes part distances gender ska to migrate to a more experimental alternative rock. This change in style is, the same band, associated with a change in mentality, due to events during the G8 in Genoa. Meganoidi I feel now "out of the loop", as the title of the album and the same song Inside the loop.
Despite the lack of funds available, the self does not affect the quality of registration. The album is recorded in their new study, the Green Fog Studio, mixed in Canada by Vic Florentia (who had already worked for Tool and Danko Jones) and burned the Classic Sound in New York by Joe Lambert. The album comes under the independent label Green Fog Records, created by the group with the intention of supporting the reality of underground and independent music. The CD is published at the political price of 13 euros as a sign of opposition and detachment from ideology of the record companies.
In May 2005 is published And Then We Met Impero, Ep By progressive rock tones and melancholy, which shows great influences of Pink Floyd and creates evocative atmosphere, attirandosi However, the criticism by older admirers.
In the same year leaves GE-2001, published compilation attached to the manifest daily to collect funds for the processes followed to the facts of the G8 in Genoa. Several artists who participate to the initiative: among these also Meganoidi MRS with the song, already present in the loop Outside wonderful sensation, riedito in a new free version published [1].
On 28 April 2006 quit their third album: Granvanoeli. The style is similar all'Ep And Then We Met Impero, but songs generally slower and with five pieces sung in Italian. Dall'abum traits are the music videos for the tracks from wells and a place. In 2008 it is expected the release of a new job.
