Megan McDonald

Megan McDonald (born 1959) is an American children's literature author; her most popular works is the series of Judy Moody books which center around a slightly bratty, undisciplined third grade girl named Judy Moody (written for grades 2-4). McDonald has also written many picture books for younger children and continues to write, her most recent work was the "Julie Albright" series of books for the American Girl line. She was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She now lives in Sebastopol, California.

The Judy Moody books are comical third-person novels for children. They include: -Judy Moody -Judy Moody gets Famous -Judy Moody Saves the World -Judy Moody Predicts the Future -Doctor Judy Moody -etc.
Judy Moody's ambition is to become a doctor, and she is keen to help the environment.

In 'Judy Moody gets Famous', Judy Moody sees her arch enemy, a bright, witty and intelligent girl in her class, appear on the front page of a newspaper after winning the NV Spelling Test. She decides to compete with Jessica and become famous. In the end, she steals some ragged dolls from the pediatric unit of the local hospital (after stepping on her friend Frank's fingers and slightly crushing them), and mends the dolls. She sends the dolls back to the hospital, and she becomes an anonymous doll-doctor in the newspaper, though nobody actually knows who mended the dolls.
