Meg Campbell
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Meg Campbell (November 19, 1937—November 17, 2007) was a New Zealand poet.[1][2][3] Aline Margaret Anderson was born in Palmerston North and attended Marsden Collegiate, Wellington, New Zealand. She was expelled in mysterious circumstances. Campbell suffered from depression and wrote about it in her poems. She married another poet, Alistair Campbell, and many of her poems (and his) are about their relationship. They lived for the rest of her life in Pukerua Bay, Porirua, a setting that inspired more poems. Her first book of poems, The Way Back in 1981 won a PEN award. She published six books of verse. She died on November 17, 2007, and her last book, Poems Adrift was launched the next day.
