Is this place for real?
Is this place for real? Is this a hoax? I was told there is no cabal! Aren't cabals evil coalitions bent on controlling the wiki? :-0 Jecowa 05:35, 13 October 2006 (UTC)
- Self-deprecation :D It's for real, but it tries not to take itself too seriously... and nobody was supposed to know about the "evil coalition bent on controlling the wiki"... >_> --Keitei (talk) 08:54, 13 October 2006 (UTC)

Geo has taken a case. Left a note on his talk page. --Ideogram 22:15, 22 June 2007 (UTC)
- Can someone review Wikipedia:Mediation Cabal/Cases/2007-06-16 Rosalie Sorrels discography to see if it was closed properly? --Ideogram 23:10, 22 June 2007 (UTC)

- Yep, Durin left a message for the iniator, Robbiegiles, and I agree with his comments. Addhoc 23:19, 22 June 2007 (UTC)
Volunteer
I'd like to volunteer for this, I'm very experienced with informal dispute resolution (I wrote substantial parts of the old AMA handbook and related pages) but I'd like not to step on any toes here, so if I might be pointed in the right direction? Thanks. User:Pedant 06:42, 18 July 2007 (UTC)
- The situation at the moment is that new cases here are frequently picked up in less than 24 hours, so finding a mediator usually isn't required. In terms of coordination, there is some clerking for areas not covered by the bot, answering the occasional question, and helping out in cases where the mediation hasn't been successful. In this context, I'm not convinced that MedCab requires more coordinators. Accordingly, I would suggest that you consider applying to WP:MEDCOM, which has a much longer lag in picking up cases. If you won't be put off that easily, I would suggest reviewing the recent clutch of cases where the mediator has resigned / gone on vacation / vanished. Addhoc 13:00, 18 July 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks Addhoc, but I prefer informal dispute resolution because it seems to me that it uses less community resources. If you misunderstood me, I am looking to help directly as a mediator than as a coordinator.. I'll look around and pitch in where I can, if there is no other way. I appreciate your response. Need help starting a new informal mediation case
I pressed the wrong button trying to start the mediation case Wikipedia:Mediation Cabal/Cases/2007-08-22 Computer program. As a result, it does not appear in the new case list. Could you do the magic to make it appear in the list with the correct template? Or should I try to delete the case and enter it again? Timhowardriley 08:54, 25 August 2007 (UTC)
- I've included the {{Medcabstatus}} template, so hopefully the bot will add the page to the new case list. Addhoc 10:32, 25 August 2007 (UTC)

- Thank you. Timhowardriley 16:01, 27 August 2007 (UTC)
Merge
This page has hardly any content that's different from its parent page, Wikipedia:Mediation Cabal. I therefore propose to merge the content of this page into that page and archive the conversations. (This supersedes my old proposal Wikipedia talk:Mediation Cabal/2007 Archive 2#Distinction between Cabal page and Coordination Desk.) — Sebastian 07:07, 9 November 2007 (UTC)
- Yup good idea. Addhoc 13:44, 9 November 2007 (UTC)

- Actually, it's even easier than that. Since all talk archives are just subpages to Wikipedia talk:Mediation Cabal, we can just treat this page as an archive. I'll probably do the same with the Coordination Desk "project" page, leaving it in its location. — Sebastian 05:42, 11 November 2007 (UTC)
