[edit] Request details

Content dispute has arisen about whether certain information belongs within this article. Consensus among multiple opponents to content, namely the mention of the Supporters' Shield and its prominence in the article, is disputed by lone proponent of content.

[edit] Who are the involved parties?

Roehl Sybing (talk · contribs), KitHutch (talk · contribs), Blackbox77 (talk · contribs), WeatherManNX01 (talk · contribs), Gateman1997 (talk · contribs), Sixkick (talk · contribs) and Grant.Alpaugh (talk · contribs)

[edit] What's going on?

A protracted discussion (in the section below) has taken place as to whether or not Supporters' Shield winners ought to be listed alongside MLS Cup winners. The main author including the list, Grant.Alpaugh, is the lone proponent disputing the established consensus, citing "no policy reason" to remove the information. The article has been reverted multiple times by said user, despite repeated attempts by other users (including myself) to have the article accurately reflect consensus.

[edit] What would you like to change about that?

A sort of established agreement - or at least confirmation of Wikipedia policy - that the article must reflect the consensus as agreed upon by a majority of users voicing their opinion in this dispute.

[edit] Administrative notes

 Atyndall93 | talk  10:13, 3 June 2008 (UTC)

I might be wrong about this, but I'm pretty sure the March block was for 1 second in order to transfer my block log over after I changed my account name from grant.alpaugh to Grant.Alpaugh. So I haven't been blocked in six months, which is important as I have become a much more constructive member of the community since then. -- Grant.Alpaugh 16:19, 3 June 2008 (UTC)

You were blocked (and unblocked after appeal) only a day ago.  Atyndall93 | talk  22:56, 3 June 2008 (UTC)
Right, but since it was appealed succesfully, that incident should be stricken from the record. -- Grant.Alpaugh 22:58, 3 June 2008 (UTC)
The point of administrative notes is to help other users and mediators to see the whole picture, don't worry, these notes will not impact on the case.  Atyndall93 | talk  01:10, 4 June 2008 (UTC)
That's fine, but when you are convicted of something in court and then you appeal succesfully, the conviction is waved from your record. I'm just trying to protect my name here, nothing more and nothing less. -- Grant.Alpaugh 03:01, 4 June 2008 (UTC)
Ok, its stricken.  Atyndall93 | talk  12:21, 4 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Discussion

This discussion will be taking place at Talk:Major League Soccer at the request of Grant.Alpaugh, anyone who reads this should go over there.

Hello, I am Atyndall and I have taken on your mediation cabal case in hope to help solve your dispute. Please note that during this discussion I will maintain a neutral point of view and try and help all users come to an agreement, I cannot issue binding punishments and I will not try, mediation is about trying to make everyone happy (or at least compromise) on the issue in question. I request that each of the users involved in this discussion please present their side of the story below. Thankyou.  Atyndall93 | talk  10:13, 3 June 2008 (UTC)

I appreciate the help, but I think the tone on the talk page has taken a more constructive tone in the last day or so, and we appear close to a compromise about this. So unless that changes, the discussion on the talk page will be my primary focus. -- Grant.Alpaugh 16:56, 3 June 2008 (UTC)
Discussion moved.  Atyndall93 | talk  22:59, 3 June 2008 (UTC)
