There has been an inability to come to a consensus as to which term is used to describe a highway when it stops being a highway a change of a highway's status. The debate has been going in circles for about a week and today degraded to personal insults. I would like to see non-involved outside parties give an opinion on which term suits Wikipedia best for the purpose of explaining what has happened to these highways.

See the talk page; the wording needs to be cleared up. --NE2 21:47, 31 October 2007 (UTC)

Not true. Please note that part of the dispute is whether "decommissioned" is a neologism. --Rschen7754 (T C) 00:06, 1 November 2007 (UTC)
