[edit] Mediator response
Is this dispute still active or can I close the case? --Ideogram 03:12, 19 March 2007 (UTC) I have not tried to post anything new on the page, but I would assume he would still try to remove footnotes if he feels they are not needed. So yes, still active. Aboutmovies 18:15, 19 March 2007 (UTC)
- It doesn't look like he's removing the footnotes or citations, but simply editing them to a certain format. Could this simply be an error of communication? Cowman109Talk 19:42, 19 March 2007 (UTC)
- He is changing the format (which going by the guidlines at WP:CITE he should not), but he also removes individual cites from sentences if they are all the same cite within a paragraph. Something you used to do when you would write a research paper. However, that is his personal preference and I do not think his preference should overwrite someone else's (please note I am not claiming ownership here, only his editorial actions show any sort of ownership). Additionally, with wikipedia being an encyclopedia that anyone can then subsequently edit, this can create the problem I have pointed out on the article's talk page. This is a real problem, not a potential problem. And if you have not already read the edit summaries that Lonewolf BC has left, you may want to, along with the hidden comments he had left in the article and then someone else removed and left him a message about on his talk page.
